POSTPONED TO 2021
After careful consideration, the Nebraska Kidney Association has made the difficult decision to postpone the Kearney Share a Spare Color Run, scheduled to take place Saturday, August 22, and the Gretna Share a Spare Color Run Scheduled to take place on August 9, due to concerns regarding the nature of COVID-19.
We have POSTPONED the runs until 2021. All registrations will be held until that time. Our decision to move our annual event was not taken lightly. We have been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as state and local governments.
The health, safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, the patients we serve and our medical community is of utmost importance. Dialysis patients and transplant recipients are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19 due to their compromised immune systems. We, therefore, believe it is in the best interest of everyone to postpone the event to a later date.
On behalf of our staff and the kidney patients and families we serve, thank you for your understanding and support during this time, and for all of the hard work and fundraising you have already achieved. Registration will remain open.
We look forward to seeing each and every one of you as we once again run together to celebrate life and kidney health awareness in the very near future. The Show must go on!!! In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
